Lee Kum Kee Sauce Group Donated RMB Two Million and Products to Jiangmen, Guangdong Province to Combat Novel Coronavirus Outbreak
The Novel Coronavirus outbreak poses a threat that deeply concerns and unsettles every one of us. In such difficult times, companies should fulfil their social responsibility and join forces with the rest of society to combat the virus. As a century-old ethnic enterprise, Lee Kum Kee always upholds the core values of “Si Li Ji Ren (Considering Others’ Interests)” and “Benefitting the Community”. Since the outbreak, Lee Kum Kee Sauce Group has not only taken stringent internal preventive measures but also supported the local authorities and medical professionals on the frontline. On 4 February, Lee Kum Kee Sauce Group donated RMB two million to Jiangmen Central Hospital through the Jiangmen Charity Federation. The donation will be used in its entirety to combat the outbreak such as purchasing protective clothing, surgical masks, disposable scrubs, face shields and goggles, and building medical facilities. Lee Kum Kee Sauce Group’s donation is believed to be the largest of all donations received across Jiangmen since the outbreak.
Lee Kum Kee Sauce Group has also donated 2000 cartons of white vinegar to the Jiangmen Branch of the Red Cross Society of China to bolster the preventive measures before the arrival of flu season. Vinegar has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties and is effective in preventing influenza and respiratory tract infections. Lee Kum Kee Sauce Group is translating its commitment to social responsibility into action to give back to the community.
