Lee Kum Kee Receives Bronze Award of “BRIFE 2019 Awards”

Lee Kum Kee was awarded the “Most Innovative Halal Food Product – Bronze Award” at the 2nd Belt & Road International Food Expo (Hong Kong) (BRIFE 2019). Star chef and popular television host, Chef Martin Yan, demonstrated the use of Lee Kum Kee Thick Soup in preparing delicacies of Southeast Asian flavours at the “Belt & Road Gourmet Kitchen”, showcasing diversified application of Lee Kum Kee products.

The Belt & Road International Food Expo (Hong Kong) was staged at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong from 11 June to 13 June 2019.  Entering its second edition this year, BRIFE 2019 attracted keen participation of enterprises from over 35 countries and regions. A varied array of activities have been held during the event, including the “BRIFE 2019 Awards”, which aims to recognise excellent products that sustain industrial development and innovation. Lee Kum Kee’s Mahsuri Salty Soy Sauce and Mahsuri Sweet Soy Sauce were awarded the Bronze Award of the “Most Innovative Halal Food Product”, as a recognition of their persistence in constant innovation and quality guarantee in Halal sauces.

Ms. Linda Ho, President – Europe, Oceania and Emerging Markets of Lee Kum Kee Sauce Group said, “It is the second year Lee Kum Kee participated in the Belt & Road International Food Expo (Hong Kong). We are delighted to be recognised by BRIFE again for our perseverance in pursuing innovation and excellence. Lee Kum Kee will continue to grasp the burgeoning business opportunities brought by the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative to roll out new Halal products, promoting Chinese culinary culture worldwide.”

Another highlight of the event was the “Belt & Road Gourmet Kitchen”. In their cooking demonstrations, multiple chefs made use of Lee Kum Kee sauces to prepare dishes. The Culinary and Cultural Ambassador of the event, Chef Martin Yan, used Lee Kum Kee Laksa Thick Soup for the delicious Southeast Asian flavoured dish “Chicken and Basil Laksa Spaghetti”. The audience were invited to tasting afterwards and were impressed by Chef Martin Yan’s exquisite culinary skills and the scrumptious delicacies.
