I have been working at Lee Kum Kee for more than 29 years. At first, I was only a Production Intern. Today, I’m Senior Production Manager responsible for raw materials processing and the operations of Packaging Plant 4 in Xinhui Production Base, as well as overseas production bases. The broaden scope of work has opened up my horizons. Comparing to the time when I was just an inexperienced intern who kept asking for guidance, I have now become a mentor, who leads my less seasoned colleagues for their continuous learning and growth.
In my work, the task that I enjoy the most is production enhancement. Through utilising digitalised tools, we create practical things to make our colleagues’ work much easier and more efficient. With the collaborative effort of Packaging Plant 4, we once simplified the product selection process at the production line from two times to one. It not only reduced damage to the labels during the process, but also avoided workers from bending over repeatedly while handling the products, thus improving occupational safety. Apart from the satisfactory result, I also enjoyed working with different Functions during the process.
Over the years, I have faced many challenges at work. In 2001, when I worked on SAP enterprise resource project, I had to acquire new knowledge and teach others on how to use the new system simultaneously. It was a memorable on-the-job learning experience. With the Company’s core value “Constant Entrepreneurship” in mind, I asked humbly whenever I encountered something unfamiliar and got fully committed to my work. With practice, I gradually got the hang of it and I was satisfied with the final outcome.
At Lee Kum Kee, we emphasise the “Tri-balance” among health, family and career. Apart from work, I play dragon boat with Lee Kum Kee Dragon Boat Team members in leisure time and our bonding has gradually grown closer. Recreational activities have enriched my life and balanced my physical and mental wellness.
To describe myself using a company product, I would pick Chinese Marinade. The rich flavours of which can only be brought out after cooking. Similar to my career, I would not have reached today’s achievements without all the challenges these years. From now on, I will continue to take on more challenges and better equip myself.
